Licensing and Exam Prep
General Requirements
Those who want to work in the insurance industry in New Jersey must first complete a prelicensing course and then pass a state licensing exam. We aim to help you prepare for your insurance state license exam(s). After finishing our course(s), you will be granted a "Certificate of Completion," which you will utilize to secure admission to the state exam.
Licensing Requirements
The New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance Producer Licensing regulations require a minimum of 20 hours of instruction per licensing authority. Our schedules reflect these requirements and, in some cases, exceed the minimum requirements. We also include Question and Answer Software, or other study aids with every course registration at no additional cost.
Anyone who sells, solicits, or negotiates insurance coverages or earns commissions, brokerage fees, compensation, or other consideration in New Jersey must be licensed.
All New Jersey Life Insurance Producers who intend to sell variable products must also get a Variable Life Insurance Producers License. To earn this license, you must pass the new FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) and Series 6 exams and file your registration number with the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance.
