Mortgage & Loan Originators Continuing Education (12 Hour NJ SAFE CE)
Continuing Education activities ensure that each mortgage professional participates in a program that maintains and increases their skill, knowledge, and competency.
Requirements
Licensed Mortgage Loan Originators are required to complete twelve (12) hours of continuing education to renew their license every year. Some States require state-specific education to be part of continuing education. New Jersey requires two (2) hours of the above twelve (12) to be state-specific. Please visit the NMLS website for a complete state-by-state listing.
Annual CE education must include 3 hours of Federal law, 2 hours of ethics (which shall include fraud, consumer protection, and fair lending issues), 2 hours of nontraditional mortgage lending, 3 hours of electives, plus 2 hours of NJ-specific education. The number of hours is 8+2+2 hrs of NJ law = 12 Hours of Continuing Education.
